Description: Vintage 18K yellow gold *color change sapphire retro mod statement ring. The large rectangular faceted lab grown stone has a beautiful purple color. The setting on this mod vintage ring is high so that the prong set stone is quite prominent. The 18K yellow gold band has a three sections of band that join in the back into one wider band at the back center. This openwork on the sides of the band is complimented by the two ribbon shapes that are at the two sides of the sapphire. These two pieces are also open and come to meet at the base under the stone where they meet the band. A very unusual Retro era statement ring. This eye-catching ring is circa 1970s.
*NOTE: color change sapphires exhibit a color change when viewed under different light sources. Although blue is the most common color, color change sapphire can occur in a range of other colors, including greenish, yellowish, pinkish and violet-purple, like this stone. (Typically, most color change sapphires display blue under natural daylight and partially shift to a blueish violet. When held in certain light, the purple hue of this stone takes on a blue tint.) The stone has a subtle color change that is more red-violet in artificial light and more blue-violet in natural light.
The large faceted synthetic sapphire is held in place with four prongs and in addition, the setting has two ribbon shaped pieces on either of the longer sides of the sapphire. These side accents provide a decorative look as well as are part of the setting.
The synthetic sapphire measures 16.00 mm by 14 .00 mm.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
