Lovely dainty vintage silver round locket with the raised Cross of Lorraine with a thistle curved around one side. The front and the back of this delicate locket are the same. The locket hangs on a new Sterling Silver chain. The locket and the chain and lightweight and feminine.
NOTE: The chain is sterling silver or 925 silver, while the locket itself is not, and is most likely 800 silver. Eight hundred silver contains 80% silver and 20% another alloy, usually copper. It has been commonly used in the production some silverware and was also used by European silversmiths in the past. There is an indiscernible stamp on the bale that appears to be French.
The inside the locket is a green backing, a cover and a frame in one well. The locket closes securely.
The antique locket is attached to a new 925 sterling silver 18” long fine link chain has a spring ring clasp that opens and closes securely.

Condition:
In nice antique condition with lots of patina and some wear as would be expected. See photos for detail. The fine link chain is new and in good condition.
Markings:
The 18” long sterling silver chain is stamped 925 on the spring ring clasp.
The locket has an indiscernible stamp on the bale.

The Cross of Lorraine is an emblem of Lorraine in eastern France. Through history, the Cross served as a rallying point for France to recover its lost provinces, and hence it became a symbol of French patriotism.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.

The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
Do you accept returns on items that have been altered?
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
What is your policy for multiple returns in a short period of time?
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
Can I purchase an item for a prop for photos, and then get a return/refund for it?
We offer customers vintage items from the past to be worn and enjoyed themselves. We cannot accept a new order when a prior item(s) has been used as a prop(s) and then returned for a refund. It will be cancelled and refunded.
