Description:
A very sweet antique round gold filled locket necklace with an etched floral design set with 6 “paste" stones that hangs on a vintage gold filled cable chain. The back of this round antique hallmarked locket is engraved GRACE.
The six clear paste stones are set in the locket front. There are some nice etched swirls and lines that are between the clear paste stones.
The back side of this Little Beatrice locket is engraved wirh the name GRACE. The bale is a plain round loop. The locket closes securely with a snap. The spring ring clasp on the 12K gold filled cable chain also closes securely.
There are two photo wells inside that each have a plastic cover and a frame. One well has the hallmark inside it.
The Art Nouveau Era locket is early 1900s in age.
The front and the back of this hallmarked RB MacDonald Jewelry Company piece have a satin finish. (See note below about this company.) It opens nicely and closes securely.
The 14K gold filled chain is vintage and is hallmarked on the clasp.
NOTES:
- The hallmark inside under the photo that says RBM stands for the R.B. MacDonald Company, which opened in 1874. The Bee hallmark with the Atrice is for the “Little Beatrice” line of lockets which they started to produce around 1903.
- "Paste" stones are a type of cut glass that was produced to imitate the look of expensive gems. The most commonly used material for paste was lead glass.

Condition:
This gold filled locket is in nice antique condition with wear commensurate with age - early 1900s - with some darkening of some of the glass paste stones. See photos for detail. The vintage gold filled chain is in good vintage condition as well.
Markings:
The locket is marked RBM 1874 with a pictorial bee and Atrice on the inner well under the photo.
Chain is marked 1/20 12K GF on the spring ring clasp.

Care instructions
While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
Vintage and Antique Items Only
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
Do you accept returns on items that have been altered?
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
What is your policy for multiple returns in a short period of time?
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
Can I purchase an item for a prop for photos, and then get a return/refund for it?
We offer customers vintage items from the past to be worn and enjoyed themselves. We cannot accept a new order when a prior item(s) has been used as a prop(s) and then returned for a refund. It will be cancelled and refunded.
