Description:
Amazing antique gold filled pocket watch chain by John F. Sturdy. This antique watch chain is a classic piece of late 1800s/early 1900s jewelry.
The piece is approx. 15.5" long from end to end. One end has a spring ring clasp, the other a swivel clasp/dog clip. The center of the chain has two sections of chain attached - one attaches to a T-bar and the other to a spring ring clasp. A locket, fob or charm could be attached here as so desired (see photos for examples).
The item can be used as a pocket watch, etc. chain or worn as a choker necklace.
Note:
- Fobs and pocket watches were most popular from the late 1700s through the mid-20th century, especially during the Victorian and Edwardian eras. Fob watches, a type of pocket watch with a chain attached, were initially worn by both men and women but became more associated with men by the 19th century. Such as the one worn by George Russell in the Gilded Age (see photo).

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
