Lovely and antique gold filled or gold plated round fob locket. The front of this antique fob locket is etched with a flying bird. The back is plain with no design.
Inside the locket are two compartments for photos. One has the original frames and glass photo cover still intact. We have removed the original photo - a 100+ year old black and white photo of a baby (whose face could rival the Gerber baby)! The original photo helps us to date the locket.
What is a fob???
- Fobs and pocket watches were most popular from the late 1700s through the mid-20th century, especially during the Victorian and Edwardian eras. Fob watches, a type of pocket watch with a chain attached, were initially worn by both men and women but became more associated with men by the 19th century.
We have attached this locket fob to a chain but it may have originally been worn on a men's pocket watch chain.
The antique photo locket hangs from a new 14K gold filled rope chain that is 18" in length. The spring ring closure opens and closes securely. The locket can be purchased with or without the chain.

Condition:
In nice antique condition with wear as would be expected an antique item that is circa late 1800s/early 1900s. Some light use marks and indentations here or there. See photos and videos for details. Chain is new and in great condition.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
