Description:
A beautiful Art Nouveau gold filled photo locket on a 14K gold filled chain. The front features one red and 20 clear "paste" stones along with detailed etched designs. The back is engraved with the name "Cecile" with a stylized capital C in the shape of a horseshoe.
This shiny round locket is hallmarked W&H Co. - the Wightman and Hough Company of Providence, RI - see NOTE below.
This 100+ year old locket is very similar in style to the one worn by Rachel from Suits in season 1 (see last photo). Rachel had great style!
There are two round photo wells inside the locket - one on each side of the antique pendant. The wells are empty and ready for your photos to be placed inside. One side has the frames still intact.
The vintage locket hangs on a new rope chain, approx. 20” long that is marked as 14K gold filled. This locket can be purchased with or without the chain.
NOTES:
The hallmark inside the locket stands for the Wightman & Hough Co. This jewelry company was established in 1856 in Providence, Rhode Island. W&H manufactured a variety of gold filled, rolled gold, and sterling silver jewelry. Their jewelry was hallmarked with a heart with the initials “W&H CO” inside. The company was known for their lockets, medallions, and seals, and made these items through the early 1920s.
"Paste" stones are a type of cut glass. Paste stones were mainly produced to imitate the look of diamonds and other precious gemstones. The most commonly used material for paste was lead glass. Paste stones may darken, etc. over time.

Condition:
In nice antique condition with wear commensurate with vintage age which is circa 1900. There are light use marks as would be expected and a small impression on the back at the bottom right - see photos for details. Some of the paste stones may appear darker than some of the others - they have darkened with age. See photos. Chain is new and in good condition.

Care instructions
While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.

The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
Do you accept returns on items that have been altered?
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
What is your policy for multiple returns in a short period of time?
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
