Description:
Vintage necklace and matching earrings by Krementz in original box. The 3 piece set features pink quartz scarabs and sprays of clear rhinestones. The earrings are screwbacks. The back of all three pieces are signed KREMENTZ. The clasp on the flat "S" link chain is a barrel type of closure. The necklace is approximate ly 15" long, which is considered a choker length.
The necklace has a total of 3 scarabs - 1 large and 2 small. The earrings have 1 large scarab each. Both have sprays of clear round paste gems or rhinestones.
The vintage Krementz display box is hinged and is a tan color with rows of light and dark brown leafy vines on the top. Inside is a two toned velvet section where the earrings and necklace are displayed.
Unique and classic feminine 3 piece set is circa 1960s - very mid century.
Approximate Measurements:
The scarab center piece is 2 1/4" wide x 1" long. Athena chain is about 15'' long in total (chain including length of the pendant piece).
The earrings are 1 1/3” long x 1/2” wide.
Box is 7 1/4" long x 4 3/4" wide x 2" high.
Condition:
In nice condition with very limited wear, light patina. The box comes with the set and has room for more pieces inside if so desired. Box has age appropriate fading inside and light wear on the outside.
Markings:
KREMENTZ on the back of the pendant piece of necklace and the earrings, and Krementz in gold on the top inner portion of the hinged display box.
NOTE:
George Krementz, a German immigrant, went to New York to apprentice in the jewelry trade, and in 1866 founded Krementz & Co in Newark, New Jersey. Krementz perfected a manufacturing technique for gold overlay used gilding 30 times thicker than that commonly used for costume jewelry. Krementz began to produce woman's jewelry circa 1920, including necklaces, brooches, rings, earrings, bracelet, etc. In the 1930s, Krementz & Co began selling their popular products internationally. Krementz jewelry items are still quite collectible and due to the unique gilding technique.
Krementz pieces were 14K gold overlay. This set is not marked but we would assume it is also 14K overlay as are other Krementz pieces.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
