Description:
Beautiful round antique gold filled locket featuring a monogrammed front with the initials "WGN” in cursive script. The back side of this circa early 1900s locket is engraved with the initials EG. All around the front and back edges is a raised design.
This type of monogrammed item was very popular during the Edwardian era.
This locket is hallmarked on one of the inner frames. The hallmark is for the Scofield, Melcher & Scofield Company of Plainville, Massachusetts. The company began operations in 1896.
There are two photo compartments inside this antique locket with the frames intact. The bale is a plain round loop.
The vintage locket hangs on a new 18” long cable chain that is marked as 14K gold filled.

Condition:
In fair to nice antique condition with wear commensurate with vintage age which is circa 1900. NOTE: There is a small raised pinpoint impression on the back to the right of the EG monogram - see photo. There is wear to the gold fill that exposes the base metal on this side as well. (It would seem that this side was the side worn against the body as it shows wear probably from rubbing/friction.)

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
