Description:
Lovely antique heart shaped 875 Silver photo locket on a sterling silver S link chain. The locket front has a blue cabochon paste gem (glass) in the center top section. On the outer bottom edges there are raised decorative flourishes. The outer edge has a chased dotted line all around it. The back of this locket is plain with no design but has a hallmark in the center.
The locket hangs on a fine vintage 925 silver “S” link chain that is 18" long.

What is 875 silver?
Silver 875 is a silver alloy containing 87.5% pure silver and 12.5% other metals, typically copper. It has historically been used in Russia and Eastern Europe. It can sometimes be referred to as “84 Zolotnik” from the Russian purity system where 84/96 zolotniks equals 87.5% silver.
The bale on their vintage locket is a plain oval loop.
Inside this locket there are two heart shaped photo wells. One well has a frame intact.
This antique heart locket hangs from a vintage 20” long slender sterling silver “S” link chain.
The locket closes securely.

Condition:
The locket is in nice antique condition with wear/scratching and patina as would be expected an antique item that is circa early 1900s. More wear on the back as it is plain with no design. See photos for details.
Markings:
The locket is marked 875 S and has a maker’s mark of AAK. The back is marked with a beta symbol, a head and 875.
The chain is marked 925 with a flower shape on a small loop near the clasp.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
