Description:
Delicate antique round and lightweight 800 Silver photo locket on a Sterling Silver chain. The locket front has three raised flowers (roses) and a blue round paste gem set in the bottom right side. The back has an engraved monogram with an artistic combination of the Ietters “GAM”. The locket hangs on a dainty vintage Sterling silver “S” link chain. The locket can be purchased with or without the chain.

What is 800 silver?
800 silver is a type of silver that was more commonly used in the past with foreign silver pieces from Germany, Italy, and other countries. 800 silver means the item is 80% silver and 20% alloy. In contrast, Sterling silver means the items is made from 92.5% silver and the remainder is alloy.
The bale on the Edwardian Era locket is a plain oval loop.
Inside this locket there are two photo wells with pink foil backings inside. Under the backings, both wells are hand etched with Roman numerals.
This antique round locket hangs from a vintage 20” long slender and thin 925 “S” link chain. The chain is mid century in age and was made by the Speidel Company.
The antique locket, that is very lightweight, has its hinge on the bottom, and opens from the top using a small tab at the top. The locket closes securely.
The vintage chain has a unique type of rectangular shaped clasp. This Sterling silver chain’s clasp opens by pushing the end loop against the inner clasp mechanism. It closes automatically when it is inserted into the clasp and pulled - it is very unusual.

Condition:
The locket is in fair to nice antique condition with wear and lots of patina on both sides as would be expected an antique item that is circa early 1900s. The chain is in nice vintage condition with wear commensurate with mid century age. The chain has its original tag still on it and would appear to never have been used.
Markings:
The locket bale has a pictorial hallmark and some text that is indiscernible.
The chain is marked STERLING and SPEIDEL USA on the clasp. The original foil tag from the Speidel Company is still on the chain close to the clasp.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
