Description:
A wonderful circa 1920-40s sweetheart gold filled etched locket that is hallmarked for the JF Sturdy Company. This 1940s piece of history has plenty of charm for its age. The front of the "Timeworn Treasure" is etched with a shield shape with a flowing garland. The is an etched frame around the front with tiny florals accenting it here and there. The locket hangs from a new 14K gold filled curb chain.
NOTE:
This locket is what we refer to as a "Timeworn Treasure" as it shows wear from the past but has enough charm to be enjoyed in the present and future.
The round locket has two photo wells when opened. The 2 photos inside are black and white and are circa 1920-40s. Both frames and plastic covers are intact.
The back of the locket has the engraved monogram LMW in block letters.
The mid century or earlier locket is marked on the bale with the hallmark for the JF Sturdy Company of Attleboro Falls, MA. The company was established in 1865 by John F. Sturdy.
The gold filled round locket in closes securely.

Condition:
The locket is in fair to nice vintage condition with wear commensurate with vintage age - this retro jewelry piece is about 80 years old. (Circa 1940s timeframe.) Some scratching on front and back as would be expected. The edge on top left on the front shows significant wear as some of the gold fill has worn off and the base metal is exposed - see photos for detail. Item’s price reflects condition.
The chain is in good condition as it is new.

Care instructions
While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.

The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
Do you accept returns on items that have been altered?
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
What is your policy for multiple returns in a short period of time?
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
