Description:
Simple, stylish and shiny oval sterling silver locket on a vintage sterling silver chain. It features a raised Tibetan symbol applied in gold fill on the front. There is an applied rope design around the oval base of this locket. The back of this little oval piece
is plain with no design and has a hallmark for sterling silver and a maker’s mark of an R. This is a form locket - one side fits very snugly inside the other - there is no clasp. The sides fit very snugly together and must be lined up exactly to press it closed.
The locket is a unique one with signs of the soldering on the applied design on the front and on the side with the hinge loop, and on the bale loop at the top adding to its rustic charm.
Inside are two oval wells. The hinge is unique as it is made with a small looped hing on one side. The other side has a loop that can be used to help open this unique little vintage form locket.
NOTE:
The Tibetan symbol on the locket front can be found on religious artifacts and jewelry. It is associated with spiritual protection, blessings, or gods.
The vintage chain is a fine box link chain. It is marked 925 for Sterling Silver on the tag near the spring ring clasp. The clasp opens and closes securely.

Condition:
In nice vintage condition with wear and patina commensurate with age - circa mid century or earlier. There is some visible solder where the elements have been applied on the locket front. Some light wear/use on front and back. See photos for details. The chain is vintage and in nice condition as well.

925 and R on the back.
The tag near the spring ring clasp on chain is marked 925 ITALY and on the spring ring clasp it is marked 925.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
