Description:
Absolutely beautiful vintage 12K gold filled hallmarked heart locket pendant on a 12K gold filled chain. The hallmark inside this necklace and on the chain is for the H.F. Barrows Company of N. Attleboro, MA. The company operated from about 1915 to the 1940s.
The feminine piece has an ornate floral and leaf etched design with small paste stones (16 in total) around the edges of the heart. The back of the locket is plain with a matte finish. Some of the stones have more shine/brilliance than others.
+ What is paste? Paste means stones made of various kinds of cut glass. Lead glass was most commonly used in the past to imitate diamonds in the 18th and 19th centuries, but paste stones were later colored by adding various metallic oxides. In more recent times, the makers of paste stones can imitate the color of almost any precious gemstone.
The interior of the locket can hold two heart photos. The wells are currently completely empty. No photo frames remain.
The vintage locket hangs from a vintage 19” long 12K gold filled curb chain which secures with a fold over clasp. The clasp opens and closes securely. The chain is original to the locket and also by the H.F. Barrows Company.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
