Description:
Beautiful and ornate round intaglio locket featuring an etched head of a man wearing a Medieval period hat on the black front, and a banded agate round on the back. The agate features various shakes of brown. The sides of this locket are scalloped. The top piece or half of the locket fits into the bottom half of the locket, and is opened by pushing the two tiny rounds at the bottom in opposite directions.
The black side (possibly onyx) has the carved intaglio and the banded agate side are round as is the locket, and they are inside a scalloped outer frame. This antique locket has 2 compartments inside. One of the wells has the frame (also with a scalloped outer edge) and an old black and white photo of a young child, while the other side of the locket is empty. The side with the photo and the frame has a slightly deeper well than the other side.
This locket is thicker than most - about 1/4”. The round vintage locket with the scalloped edges is on a 18” long vintage 14K gold filled chain with a spring ring clasp. The clasp opens as intended and closes securely.
The locket opens from the bottom and the hinge is at the top.
The locket is circa early 1900s.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
