A Victorian gold filled mourning locket in an oval shape with blue enameling. The front of this antique locket pendant is quite ornate and features an etched and chased design of tiny chased accents, a stem with curled leaves and a fan filled in with light and dark blue enamel. This design fills the locket front. The enamel provides definition for the small designs on the top left portion of the antique locket. What is not filled in with enamel is etched and chased giving the front of the locket a great deal of texture and making it very much an eye-catcher.
The back of this vintage locket is gold filled and features an etched design with a leafy shape in the center. Above it are tiny chased fan shapes. Below it are tiny chased designs.
The bale is fanned and has vertical lines on it. This rounded oval shaped locket has two compartments or wells inside. Both have the paper backings, the frames and the glass covers that fit inside. It looks as though no photos were ever placed in the wells. The wonderful locket is circa late 1800s to early 1900s in age.
This oval locket has the hinge on the left, and opens on the right using the two tabs that are pressed in opposite directions.
The spring ring clasp on the new 20" long 14K gold filled curb chain opens and closes securely. The clasp is marked 1/20 14K GF.
Measures:
1 1/2” long (including the bale and loop) and is 1” for the locket alone. The locket is 3/4” wide at its widest section.
The chain is 20" long.

Condition:
The locket front is in nice antique condition with some light wear to the enamel - this would be as expected an item that is circa late 1800s to early 1900s. See photo closeups. The chain is in good condition as it is new.

Care instructions
While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.

The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
Do you accept returns on items that have been altered?
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
What is your policy for multiple returns in a short period of time?
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
