Description:
A lovely vintage gold filled and etched heart shaped locket made by Pittman & Keeler Company on a 14K gold filled chain. This floral locket necklace features an etched front design that has a larger heart on the bottom with tricolor (pink and green) etched flowers and leaves above. The back side of this locket is plain with no design.
NOTE:
This locket is hallmarked P&K on the inside frame. This stands for the Pittman & Keeler Jewelry Company. While the company began as McRae & Keeler Company in 1883, in 1907, McRae & Keeler changed the company name to Pitman & Keeler. They manufactured several lines of jewelry that included their sweetheart expandable bracelets known as their "American Queen" items and other items including lockets. These bracelets and lockets were very popular during WWII and into the later 1940s.
There are two heart shaped compartments inside this locket with both frames and original foil backings intact. The locket closes VERY securely and takes some effort to open.
This vintage locket hangs from a vintage 18” long 14K gold filled chain with a spring ring clasp. The clasp opens and closes securely. The chain is by PPC - Princess Pride Creations.
A wonderful piece of vintage sweetheart jewelry that is circa mid century (1930s/1940s).

Condition:
In nice antique condition with wear commensurate with age - circa early to mid century (1930s/1940s). More patina on the inner wells, some light use marks on the back and some small impression on the back, upper right. See photos for detail. Chain is in very nice vintage condition and the clasp works well.
Marked:
Locket is marked P&K on one of the inner frames.
Chain is marked 14KT GF PPC on the spring ring clasp.
PPC is for Princess Pride Creations.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
