Description:
Beautiful small antique gold filled locket featuring a plain back and a plain front front. The locket has a satin finish on both the front and the back. This classic little locket hangs on an 18” long fine link 14K gold filled chain. The hinge for this antique piece is on the bottom and it opens from the top. The bale is a plain round loop.
The interior of the locket is hallmarked SKM CO in the center of one of the wells. The locket holds two small round photos. Both frames are intact inside.
The locket was made by the S.K. Merill Company - see NOTE below - and is from the early 1900s. This type of item - often monogrammed on one side - was very popular during the Edwardian era.

Condition:
In fair to nice antique condition with some age appropriate patina and wear. There are some pinpoint depressions on both sides consistent with antique age, with one side having more wear than the other. See photos and video for detail. Price reflects conditions noted.
Locket opens as intended and closes securely. Chain clasp is secure.

On the inside of the front of this locket is the hallmark SKM. It stands for the S.K. Merill Company that manufactured jewelry from 1871-1915.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
