Description:
An antique gold filled and blue enamel mourning locket in an oval shape on a 14K gold filled chain. The front of this enamel locket pendant features a tiny gold filled leaf in the center. This etched leaf features a very small light grey seed pearl set in the center.
The enamel is a robin's egg shade of blue and is in nice condition. The enamel is on the front and the back of the locket. The back of the locket is plain blue enamel with no other design element.
The top bale is a simple oval loop. This oval shaped locket has two compartments or wells inside. Both have their original contents inside with one side holding a very faded old photo, and the other holding a tan backing. Both are hard to see what may be inside the wells as the glass is obscured with age/wear. The contents appear to be sealed under glass covers.
The locket hangs on a vintage 14K gold filled cable chain.
This circa early 1900s era locket has the hinge on the left, and opens on the right using the tiny fold over tab on the side. The tiny button on the side and the fold over tab are pressed in opposite directions to open this beautiful little antique piece of mourning jewelry.
The spring ring clasp on the fine 20" long 14K gold filled chain opens and closes securely.

Condition:
The locket front and back are in nice antique condition with wear as would be expected an item that is circa late 1800s or early 1900s. Overall, the enamel is quite nice, especially considering the age of this estate jewelry piece. The vintage chain is in nice condition with age appropriate patina. See photo closeups.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
