Description:
Lovely large vintage 19th century etched and engraved gold plated locket that has two beautifully made sides, one that is engraved "Ella" in an older cursive font. The other side of this antique locket pendant has a beautiful pastoral scene that includes the landscape of a small village with one tall tower in the center. Rays emanate from the scene. Both the front and the back edges have etched designs that frame their featured central etched images. On the outer sides of the locket, the rims are also etched. The locket is attached to its chain with a spring ring clasp.
This lovely piece hangs from a unique heavy rope chain that ends with a single drop chain. Where the drop meets the chain is a sweet little flower accented piece that connects the chain to the single drop length of chain. The total drop length of this chain when worn in 22".
Inside the locket are two old daguerreotype photos: one of a woman and one of a man. Both photos are under glass.
The top of this pocket watch style locket has a large round bale loop at the top where it attaches to the heavy chain. This bale loop has some decorative etched designs on it that compliment the locket perfectly.
The hinge for this vintage watch case locket is on the bottom, and it opens from the top.
The antique gold plated locket hangs on its vintage and heavy specialty rope chain. The chain’s older style of a spring ring clasp opens and closes securely.
The locket is circa late 1800s. This rather large locket is a classic piece and makes a bold statement when worn.

Chain - length is 18” with a 2” drop.
Pendant: 2 1/4” long when including the large round bale loop, 1 1/2” diameter. It is slightly more than 1/4" deep.

Condition:
This round Victorian era pocket watch case locket is in fair to nice antique condition with wear commensurate with vintage age - late 1800s. There is wear the the gold plate on one side where the base metal is exposed in three places - see photos for detail. The side with the banner cartouche engraved ELLA has a slight concave shape. The chain is in nice vintage condition with age appropriate patina.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
