A Victorian mourning locket in an oval shape with an ornate design on the front featuring a bird in the center circle and a waterfront scene on the back.
The front of this antique gold filled locket pendant features an ornate etched and chased design that fills the complete locket front. The front of this circa late 1800s locket features fronds, leaves, swirls and lines that appear in vertical columns across the locket. The circle on the front shows a bird. The back has an etched scene of a house/buildings on the left, with water at the bottom, a sail boat at the right in the water, and some decorative designs at the top on a diagonal (possibility depicting a sunset). A very detailed waterscape scene for such a small space.
The top bale is a simple round loop. This rounded oval shaped locket has two compartments or wells inside. Both have some blue fabric in place. The frames remain as well as the glass photo inserts. The one side features a very old photograph of a man - looks like the late 1800s/early 1900s.
This Victorian Era locket has the hinge on the left, and opens on the right using the two little round tabs that are lightly pushed in opposite directions. As this locket is as slight domed shape there is more room inside than most lockets. Could hold photos or a very small memento if so desired. During it's time, hair was often held in one side of the locket.
This antique locket is attached to a new 20'' 14K gold filled curb chain. The spring ring clasp on the chain opens and closes securely. The locket can be purchased with or without the chain.
This wonderful antique locket is circa late 1800s.

1” long (including the bale loop) and is 3/4” long for the locket alone. The locket is 5/8” wide at its widest section The locket is 1/4" deep.
Chain is 20'' long.

Condition:
The locket is in nice antique condition with wear as would be expected an item that is circa late 1800s. See photo closeups. Opens and closes securely. Chain is new and in great condition.

Locket is unmarked. Tested as gold filled with a NITON DXL precious metal analyzer.
Chain is marked 1/20 12K GF on the spring ring clasp

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
