Description:
Antique gold filled slide on a 24" long oval link chain. The adorable necklace slide features a red rhinestone and two seed pearls on a gold filled slide.
This antique slide is gold filled as is the antique dog chain clasp. The 24'' long chain does not test as gold and is most likely jeweler’s brass.
This gold filled slide and the dog chain clasp as well as the chain are circa early 1900s.
NOTE:
Slide chains were popular in the late 1880s into the early 1900s and were often worn with a pendant watch attached to the dog chain clip. In modern times, as in older times, they are a classic pieces that add to any outfit or ensemble.

Condition:
This antique slide chain is in nice condition with light wear commensurate with antique age (circa 1900-1910). The dog chain clasp and slide itself have some patina/light use marks commensurate with antique age. See photos for detail.
Markings:
Chain clip is marked SM&S for Scofield, Melcher & Scofield.
Scofield, Melcher & Scofield did business in Plainville, Mass beginning around 1896 and into the early 1900s.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
