Lovely round, circle shaped 12K gold filled photo locket made by Samsan Company circa 1950s.
This large round locket features a raised grape cluster, leaf and vine design on the front. The top of the locket has a decorative design, largest in the center top and decreasing in size as it spreads out along the top. The back is plain with no design and has a shiny finish.
Inside the locket are two round compartments for photos with both of the plastic covers and the frames still intact. Behind one of these compartments is the hallmark stamp. This locket also has the original photos - a black and white photo of a man on the right and a woman on the left. The way the photos are positioned, it looks like they are looking and smiling/laughing with each other. Based on their glasses and clothes, it appears they are from the 1950s.
The locket closes securely with a snap. The hinge is on the left and the locket opens from the right.
The vintage photo locket hangs from a vintage 12K gold filled rolo chain that is 18.5” in length. The vintage style spring ring closure opens and closes securely.
SAMSAN - The hallmark inside is for the Samsan Jewelry Company that was in business in the 1940 to 1950s and was located in Providence, Rhode Island.

Condition:
The locket is nice vintage condition with some wear as would be expected an item that is circa 1940s or 1950s - see photos for detail. More wear present on the back as there is no design. Price reflects condition. Some tarnishing inside the locket, could be further polished if so desired. Chain is also in nice vintage condition and the spring ring clasp opens and closes securely.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
