Description:
A Victorian mourning locket in an oval shape with a very dark blue and white enameling. This antique locket mourning locket is jeweler's brass and features an ornate geometric diamond shaped design in the dark blue enamel and a white flower/floral design around the outer edges. This design fills the complete locket front. The enamel provides definition for the intricate diamond and floral shape. There are a few little etched designs here and there that add to this ornate front of the locket. The back has an engine turned design that is a series of oval patterns with the smallest in the center, and then radiating out to the edge that has a double line around it.
The top bale is a simple round loop. This rounded oval shaped locket has two compartments or wells inside. Both have old glass covers. One of the oval glass covers is cracked. This cracked cover has a very old and very faded photo of a beaded man behind it. Both sides of the photo wells have frames but they are not a perfect fit and do not cover all of the glass covers - see photos for detail.
This Victorian Era form locket has the hinge on the left, and opens on the right using the sides that are pressed in opposite directions. The locket is closed by pressing the sides together.
The spring ring clasp on the 20" long 12K gold filled rope chain opens and closes securely. The wonderful locket is circa late 1800s to early 1900s in age.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
