Description:
Lovely gold filled vintage locket with mother of pearl finish on the front with a metal shaped flower holding a red paste stone. The center is a bright and shiny red colored glass rhinestone or "paste" stone. The flower is made up of nine petals.
Inside the locket there is room for two heart shaped photos. No frames remain. The locket opens from the right, the hinge is on the left.
The back of this locket is plain with a shiny finish. This wonderful locket is circa mid century.
The vintage locket is attached to a vintage 18'' fine link chain that has a filigree fold-over clasp. The clasp is very lovely.
Absolutely lovely (and unique!) piece of romantic photograph jewelry.
Notes:
+ What is paste? Paste means stones made of various kinds of cut glass. Lead glass was most commonly used in the past to imitate diamonds in the 18th and 19th centuries, but paste stones were later colored by adding various metallic oxides. In more recent times, the makers of paste stones can imitate the color of almost any precious gemstone.

Condition:

Locket is unmarked but tested as gold filled with a Thermo Scientific Niton DXL x-ray machine.
Chain is marked 1/20 12K GF on the fold-over clasp.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
