Description:
Beautiful round gold filled locket made by the W&H Company in the early 1900s and has places for two round portraits inside. Both the front and back of this locket are plain with a shiny finish. The edges on both sides are beveled.
The inside of the locket is hallmarked W&H Co inside an etched heart.
The hallmark is for the Wightman & Hough Company that was established in 1856 in Providence, Rhode Island. They manufactured gold-filled, rolled gold, and sterling silver jewelry. Each piece was hallmarked with a heart containing the initials “W&H CO”. They were known for lockets, medallions, and seals. They were in business through the Art Deco era.
The locket opens and closes securely with a snap. It opens from the top with the hinge on the bottom.
This vintage locket is attached to a new 20'' 14K GF curb chain. The spring ring clasp on the chain opens and closes securely.

Condition:
This gold filled locket necklace is in nice vintage/antique condition with wear commensurate with age (approx. 100 years old). Some light use marks on the front and back of the locket and some tarnishing on the inside - see photos for details.

The locket marked W&H CO inside a heart shape. Tested as gold filled.
The chain is marked 1/20 14K GF on the the spring ring clasp.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
