Description:
A sweet round antique gold filled locket featuring a monogrammed front with the initials "GB” in an old cursive script hanging on a 14K gold filled curb chain. The back side of this circa early 1900s locket is plain with no decoration.
The locket opens from the top and has a hinge on the bottom. This type of monogrammed item was very popular during the Edwardian era, like the black and white photo of a handsome young man from the original owner. This locket is hallmarked W&H CO on one of the inner wells.
This hallmark is for the Wightman & Hough Company that was established in 1856 in Providence, Rhode Island. They manufactured gold-filled, rolled gold, and sterling silver jewelry. Each piece was hallmarked with a heart containing the initials “W&H”. They were known for lockets, medallions, and seals. They were in business through the Art Deco era.
There are two photo compartments inside this antique locket. The plastic photo covers and original frames remain. Some damage to the one frame (housing the black and white photo of a man from the early 1900s). See photo. The bail is a plain round loop.
The antique locket hangs on a new 20” long curb chain that is marked for 14K gold filled.

Condition:
In nice antique condition with wear commensurate with vintage age which is circa early 1900s. There is some light wear on the back side of this antique locket as it is plain with no design. See photos for details. The chain is new and in great condition.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
