Description:
Lovely round sterling silver photo locket that is circa the early to mid 1900s in age. This locket has a pink floral design on the front - a raised pink flower with silver and gold colored accents surrounding it. It is made by the Bliss Brothers Jewelry Company - see NOTE below about this company.
The front of this locket has a raised rose gold colored blossom with a silver "V" shape beneath it and yellow gold colored designs above and below. The back of the locket is silver in color and plain with a shiny finish and no design.
NOTE: Bliss Brothers Company was founded by Charles Edwin Bliss, Everett Bradford Bliss, and R.L.F. Everett. According to an 1883 history of the county, Bliss Brothers & Everett “made a general variety of ladies’ and gents’ gold-plated goods.” The company became Bliss Brothers Co. sometime after 1887. Compacts, pill boxes, and other small items, including gold-filled and sterling jewelry, were made.
The inside of the locket appears to be gold colored although the locket is marked STERLING.
Inside the locket are two round compartments for photos. Both wells have the frames and the paper backings. The locket closes VERY securely. Once closed, it does take some effort to open the locket. The hinge is on the bottom and the locket opens at the top.
The bale is fanned and has some wonderful decorative raised elements that complement the locket’s design.
The vintage photo locket hangs from a vintage fine link chain that is 19” in length. The chain has a filigree fold over clasp that closes securely. (This type of clasp is an older style of clasp.) The clasp is marked STERLING. Although it is marked STERLING, the chain has a gold color to it.

Condition:
In fair to nice antique condition with wear commensurate with an antique item that is circa early to mid 1900s in age. Some light wear and light scratches on the front, the back also has some wear to the silver and light scratch marks along the bottom. See photos for details. The vintage chain is also in nice condition, the filigree fold over clasp works well.
Markings:
The locket is marked inside one well with a the stamp: STERLING Bliss Brothers hallmark of a capital B with a small B inside the top and CO inside the bottom of the B.
The 19” long chain is stamped STERLING on the fold over clasp.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
