Description:
A vintage Gold Filled rectangular 8 sided locket that hangs from a vintage 14K gold filled chain. The front of this locket features an etched pinstriped design that alternates with plain vertical columns. In the very center is an oval cartouche engraved with the letter S. The back of the locket is plain in the middle and has the same ornate frame around the back as is it does on the front. The bale is ornate and has three loops at the top. The bale loop that holds the chain is also ornate with some tiny curled ball designs on the edges that match the curled design all along the edges of the locket front and back. The chain connects to the top loop of the three stacked loops. The locket closes securely with a snap.
There are spots inside for two oval shaped photos. The original frames are present as are the paper backings and the plastic covers. The frames are hallmarked HAYWARD.
The locket hangs from a vintage 14K gold filled curb chain with a spring ring clasp. The clasp opens and closes securely.
Measurements:
Measures 1 1/4" long (not including bale loop, 1 1/2'' with decorative bale) and is approx. 7/8" wide at widest section at the middle of the oval.

Condition:
In fair to nice vintage condition with wear as would be expected with an item of this age - mid century or earlier. Some small dents on the front of the locket below the letter S. More wear on the back as it is plain with no design. Some light wear all over - see photos for details.

The Hayward stamped inside is for the Massachusetts based jeweler, Walter E. Hayward. They operated in Attleboro, Mass. and were popular c.1922, c.1934 c. 1943 and c.1950.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
