Description:
A very pretty antique round gold filled locket necklace with a repousse flower and flowing ribbon design with a single “paste" stone hanging on a vintage elongated oval link chain. This early 1900s locket was made by the Foster & Bailey Company. While the front of this round antique hallmarked locket has a raised and clear paste studded flower and ribbon design, the back is monogrammed with 3 initials (LAB) in an old cursive font. There is one clear paste (glass) stone set in the locket front in the center of the raised flower.

The back side of this floral-themed locket is has the cursive monogram of the initials "LAB". The bale is a plain round loop. The locket closes securely.

There are two round photo wells inside. One well is empty and one has a frame still in place. One well has the hallmark F&B on the inner frame edge. This antique locket is early 1900s in age.

The hinge is on the right (when looking at the floral on the front) and this locket opens from the left.

The chain, which is most likely made of jeweler’s brass, is vintage and came with this antique locket. It has an older style of a spring ring clasp.

NOTES:
This locket, which is circa late 1800 or early 1900s, is hallmarked for the Foster & Bailey Company of Providence, Rhone Island. The company was in business from about 1878-1898. The company name was changed at that time, and it continued to operate until the mid 1900s.
"Paste" stones are a type of cut glass that was produced to imitate the look of expensive gems. The most commonly used material for paste was lead glass.

Condition:
This gold filled locket is in nice antique condition with wear commensurate with age - early 1900s. There is a small chip on the paste stone that can be seen with a jeweler’s loupe. The vintage gold tone metal chain is in nice condition with some patina commensurate with vintage age.

Markings:
The locket is marked F&B with a diamond shape and PAT. on the inner edge.
NOTE: The chain is unmarked and is a gold tone metal, most likely jeweler's brass.

    While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.

    The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.

    Do you accept returns on items that have been altered?

    We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.

    What is your policy for multiple returns in a short period of time?

    We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
