Description:
Lovely antique gold filled photo locket on a 14K gold filled chain that has an enamel motto of the Knights of Pythias (Friendship, Charity, Benevolence) on the front and a cursive monogram on the back. The round locket hallmarked for the S W Blackington Company hangs on a new 14K gold filled curb chain.
NOTE: The Knights of Pythias is a fraternal organization and secret society that was founded in 1864.
The front of this vintage/antique locket features a raised round enamel piece with the Knights of Pythias motto and the letters KCB on it. The colors on the enamel piece are black, red, blue, and yellow and there is a shield and some armor depicted on this small enamel round. On the back of the locket, there is an engraved monogram with what appears to be the initials MEN in an old cursive font. The locket is circa early 1900s in age.
Inside this antique locket are two photo frames complete with two old black and white photos. The frames are hallmarked with W&S B with a star shape which is the hallmark for the W & S Blackington Company. This company was started by two brothers in 1865, and was a manufacturer of gold jewelry. It was located in Meriden, CT.
The two round photo wells hold photos of a baby and the other is of a woman in an wide floppy brimmed hat with her hand to her face. The photos are circa 1920s.
This antique round and larger sized locket hangs from a 18" long new gold filled curb link chain. The bale is a plain oval loop.
The locket, that has its hinge on the bottom, opens easily and closes securely. The spring ring clasp on the 18” long gold filled chain also closes securely.

Condition:
In nice antique condition with light wear on both sides as would be expected an antique item that is circa early 1900s.
Markings:
The locket frames are hallmarked W&S B with a star. The last photo shows the hallmark inside the locket under the photo.
Inside the locket one of the wells is marked 1/4 GOLD SHELL W&SB with a star shape.
The gold filled chain is stamped 1/20 14K GF near the spring ring clasp.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
