Description:
Beautiful antique round gold filled locket on a 14K gold filled curb chain with an etched flower design set with small paste stones in the front. (Paste stones are glass, and were commonly used to initiate the look of diamonds.) The etched flower is on the bottom left side of the locket front and it has long leafy fronds that extend both upward and downward along the left side. On the right side of the flower is an etched textured finish that ends with an arched shaped set with 5 paste (glass) gems. The right side of the locket front, opposite the flower and paste gems, is plain with a shiny finish. The locket is circa early to 1900s in age.
The back of this vintage locket is plain with no design. Inside one of the photo wells is the unusual hallmark that consists of the letters SB CO in between two dollar signs.
The front and the back of this hallmarked locket have a shiny finish. The hinge is on the bottom and this locket opens from the top. The locket closes securely with a snap. The bale is a plain round loop.
There are two photo wells. One well is complete with the plastic cover and the frame still intact. One has only a pink foil backing in place.
The chain, a new 14K gold filled curb chain, has a spring ring clasp. The clasp opens and closes securely.

Locket: Approximately 1 1/8” diameter (not including the large bail ring. With the bale loop it is 1 1/3" long)

Condition:
This gold filled locket is in nice antique condition with wear commensurate with age - early 1900s. Some of the paste stones have darkened with age. The new 14K gold filled curb chain is in very good condition. See photos for detail.
Markings:
The locket is marked with a hallmark of $ SB CO $ in one of the inner wells.
Chain is marked 1/20 14K GF on the spring ring clasp.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
