Description:
Lovely gold filled square fob locket that was made by the S & B Lederer Company in the early 1900s. This locket is a square shape and hangs on a corner making it have a diamond shape when worn. On the top is a wonderful frame around the bale that extends to the two sides on the top. The front has an etched floral pattern with a flower's center and three petals peaking out from the top (top of the diamond when worn) with etched swirling designs on either side - an asymmetrical design. There is also a monogram with the letter "H" in lower case on the back. The back is otherwise plain with no design. Both the front and the back have a shiny finish.
Around the top where the bale loop is for this late Victorian Era/early Edwardian locket are ornate embellishments with curled ends, giving it a larger look and even more of an eye-catching shape.
Inside the locket are two compartments for photos with one the frames and the covers still intact. The hinge is on the left bottom side (when worn) and the locket opens from the right upper side.
The antique photo locket hangs from a 14K gold filled twisted rope chain that is 18" in length. The spring ring closure opens and closes securely. The twisted rope chain is 2.5mm in width.
Note about the S&BL CO: This locket is hallmarked S & BL CO for the S & B Lederer Company of Providence, Rhode Island that was in business between 1878 and 1931.

Condition:
In nice antique condition with light wear commensurate with antique age (early 1900s). There is some light tarnishing/wear inside the locket. See photos for details. The chain is also in very nice vintage condition. Clasp works securely.

Locket - S&BL CO. on an inside frame. Item tested as gold filled.
The gold filled chain is stamped PC (hallmark) 14KT GF on a link near the spring ring clasp.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
