Description:
Lovely round vintage La Mode gold filled locket on a fine gold filled chain. This Retro Era (circa 1940s) jewelry piece features a central round cartouche surrounded by an engine turned textured surface that covers most of the front. Inside this textured portion is a shiny circle shape with swirling designs above and below. The back has a swirled design that is also engine turned. The outer edges of both the back and the front of this vintage locket are plain with a shiny finish. The bale is a plain round loop.
NOTE:
This gold filled locket is a La Mode piece. La Mode was a trademark used by Ripley and Gowan of Attleboro, Mass. The company’s history dates back to the 1880s. Ripley and Gowan filed for use of “La Mode” as a trademark in 1924. The company used the trademark for both women’s and men’s jewelry.
There are 2 small compartments for photos inside this locket. These compartments have the original frames and plastics still intact. Inside this 1940s era locket is one of the original black and white photos. It shows a sharply dressed older man.
The hinge for this vintage locket is on the bottom and it opens from the top. The locket closes securely with a snap.
The vintage locket hangs on a vintage fine link gold filled chain. The chain’s spring ring clasp opens and closes securely.
The locket is circa mid century. This locket is a classic - shiny, gold and unique!

This sweet La Mode Retro Era locket necklace is in nice vintage condition with wear commensurate with vintage age. Some light use marks here or there and some light tarnishing inside the locket. See photos for detail. The chain is also in nice vintage condition with light wear. Spring ring clasp opens and closes securely.
Markings:
Locket is marked 1/20 12K GF LA MODE on the bail and the inside is marked La Mode in cursive script.
Chain is marked 1/20 on the loop near the spring ring clasp

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
