Description:
A classic vintage 12K gold filled round locket pendant necklace that is circa mid century. The locket features an etched front that is two- toned. While the locket is yellow gold filled, there is a band of white gold fill down the center with tiny etched leafy shapes engraved on the center of it in a vertical column as well as on the outer edges of this white gold filled section.
The back of the locket is plain with no design but is hallmarked for the Marvel Jewelry Company. The bale is fanned and has a bit of decorative edging.
Inside the locket are 2 very round wells for photos with some red heavy paper backing and the two frames.
The locket has the company hallmark for the Marvel Company. The company operated out of Providence, RI beginning in the mid 1940s. This locket is circa mid century in age.
The round locket is inside the original jewelry display box that is off-white with gold trim. The top lid says "Castle Jewels by Kanel" and "Styled by Marvel" with the Marvel logo in gold ink. The red and gold foil inside on the velvet holder says 12KT GOLD FILLED and HAND ENGRAVED.
The locket hangs from the original 12K gold filled fine link chain which secures with a spring clasp. The chain is 18" long.
The hinge on the locket is on the left and the locket opens on the right side. It closes securely as does the clasp on the gold filled chain.

Condition:
The locket and the chain are in nice vintage condition - circa mid century. It appears that this locket necklace was never worn - there is very little sign of wear.

Pendant is marked 12K G.F. and has a pictorial hallmark of an M over an A on the back - the hallmark for the Marvel Jewelry Company
Chain is marked 12K GF on one side and MARVEL on the tag near the spring ring clasp

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
