A classic vintage gold filled heart shaped locket necklace with a mother of pearl background that features a raised insignia from Medina High School.
The back of the locket is plain but has a capital D engraved in decorative script with '40 underneath it. It must have belonged to D from the Medina High School class of 1940.
The interior of the locket is empty and has room for two photos. The original frames are no longer intact. This locket can hold two heart shaped photos (one on each side).
The locket hangs on a new 14K gold filled fine link chain which secures with a spring clasp. China is fine and dainty. Beautiful piece of romantic photograph jewelry.
There are a few different Medina schools in the US - NY, OH, MN to name a few. This one features Blue and Red which are also currently the colors of the current Medina, NY insignia.
The photos shown above show some young girls (one is my grandmother) who were in High School in the Buffalo, NY area in the 1940s. Maybe they knew "D"!

Care instructions
While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.

We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
Do you accept returns on items that have been altered?
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
What is your policy for multiple returns in a short period of time?
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
