Description:
An etched heart shaped 12K gold filled Pittman & Keeler Company locket on a 14K gold filled Rolo chain. The larger sized heart locket features a unique etched flower and geometric shapes with a bit of a leafy design on the front. The flowers on either side of the heart have a slight rose gold color. There is an etched central oval shape at the center top section of the heart. A bit of leafy garland hangs from the bottom of the oval to the pointed end of the heart. This is framed with some etched lines providing contrast to the design itself. The back of this larger sized heart locket is plain with no design and has a satin finish.
We call this hallmarked locket a “Timeworn Treasure” as this early mid century era piece shows wear from its past. While there is some loss to the gold fill on the front left and right, it is still a lovely piece from yesteryear to be worn and enjoyed today!
NOTE:
This locket is hallmarked P&K on the inside. This stands for the Pittman & Keeler Jewelry Company. While the company began as McRae & Keeler Company in 1883, in 1907, McRae & Keeler changed their name to Pitman & Keeler. They manufactured several lines of jewelry that included their sweetheart expandable bracelets known as their "American Queen" items and other items including lockets. They were very popular during WWII and into the later 1940s.
This vintage locket holds two heart shaped photo compartments inside. The hinge is on the right side and this locket opens from the left side. The locket closes securely. Currently there are both frames intact. One side has a plastic cover in place while the other side has a gold foil backing still in place.
The locket hangs from a new 18” long 14K gold filled Rolo chain.
The spring ring clasp on the 14K gold filled chain opens and closes securely. The chain is marked 1/20 14K GF on the spring ring clasp.

Locket: 1 1/3” long (including the bale) and 1 1/4" without the bale x 1" wide at the widest part.

Condition:
This vintage locket is in fair to nice vintage condition with wear commensurate with age. There is wear to the gold fill on the front left and right sides where it has worn to the base metal. While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
