Description:
Lovely gold filled square fob locket that was made by the W&H Jewelry Company that features a 4 sided shape that hangs on a corner making it have a diamond shape when worn on its vintage curb chain. The front of the locket features a fleur de lis shape that is studded with "paste" (glass) stones. On the top of this locket is a wonderful ornate frame bale that extends onto the two sides on the top. There are 13 of paste gems on the front of this early 1900s locket making it sparkle and adding to its charm.
NOTE: "Paste" stones are a type of cut glass. Paste stones were mainly produced to imitate the look of diamonds. The most commonly used material for paste was lead glass.
The back of this square shaped locket has an engraved letter “C” in an old cursive font. The locket is early 1900s in age.
This fob locket was made by the Wightman and Hough Company and it bears a Patent date of 1904.
Around the top where the bale loop is for this Victorian Era locket are ornate embellishments with curled ends, giving it a larger look and even more of an eye-catching shape. The top 2 sides of the locket have a bar that runs across the top edge.
The W&H hallmark on the inside of this locket stands for the Wightman & Hough Company that was established in 1856 in Providence, Rhode Island. They manufactured gold-filled, rolled gold, and sterling silver jewelry. Each piece was hallmarked with a heart containing the initials “W&H CO”. They were known for lockets, medallions, and seals. They were in business through the Art Deco era. The locket closes securely with a snap.
Inside the locket are two square compartments for photos. Both of the original frames and plastic covers are still intact. The locket is hinged on the bottom left and opens from the top right using a very, very small tab that is on the top side panel.
The antique photo locket hangs from a vintage 12K gold filled curb link chain that is 18" in length. The spring ring closure opens and closes securely.
Measurements:
Locket - 1 1/2" long with the bail and 1" without the bale. The locket is 1" wide.

The vintage gold filled chain is stamped CA CO 1/20 12K on the spring ring clasp.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
