Description:
A very sweet antique round gold filled locket necklace with an etched floral design on the front and a plain back. The locket hangs on a new 18" long 14K gold filled Rolo chain. This locket is what we call a "Timeworn Treasure" as there is significant wear but still has more enjoyment to bring when worn again.
The front of this round antique hallmarked locket features a tall sprig of leaves and 2 small flowers on the left side. This design begins at the bottom center and grows upward. The right side of the locket front is plain, providing contrast to the etched side.
There are two photo wells inside this Timeworn Treasure with one having the frame intact. One well is empty. The well with the frame holds an old black and white photo of an attractive looking woman that is circa 1940s. The empty well has the RBM hallmark in the center. The antique locket necklace and the photo inside are early mid century or earlier in age.
The front and the back of this hallmarked R.B. MacDonald Jewelry Company piece have a shiny finish. (See note below about this company.) The hinge is on the bottom and this locket opens from the top. It closes securely.
NOTES:
The hallmark inside that says RBM stands for the R.B. MacDonald Jewelry Company, located in Attleboro, MA that opened in 1874.
The chain is new and is a 14K gold filled Rolo chain that has a spring ring clasp. The clasp opens and closes securely. The bale is a plain round loop.

Locket: Approximately 1 1/4” diameter (not including the bail loop. With the bale loop it is 1 1/3" long)

Condition:
This gold filled locket necklace is in fair antique condition with wear commensurate with age - early 1900s. There is pitting on the gold fill on the locket exterior, the front and back where the base metal is exposed. There are some pinpoint depressions on the back side - see photos for detail. Price reflects conditions.
Markings:
The locket is marked RBM BATRICE and a bee with 1874 around it on the inner well.
Chain is marked 1/20 14K GF on the spring ring clasp.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
