Description:
Lovely vintage etched heart shaped 9 CT Gold Lined (see NOTE below) form locket that hangs on a new 14K gold filled chain. The 2 piece form locket pendant has an etched front and a plain back with no design. The etched front features a floral and leafy design at the top. There is a line on the diagonal that separates the top etched section from the plain bottom half of the heart.
The heart shaped form locket is circa late early to mid 1900s in age.
The back of this locket is plain with no design and has a shiny finish.
NOTE: This locket is from Australia. The use of Carat for Karat is used, as in this locket's marking. This and the other markings on the back are used to show the locket is 9ct gold that has been bonded to a base metal (often silver or copper) to create a long-lasting piece with the look and feel of gold. In other locales, it is referred to as gold filled.
Inside the locket are 2 heart shaped small compartments. One has a frame intact. Currently there is one old black and white photo if a baby inside this well. The other well is empty.
As noted above, this is a form locket and as such, there is no hinge on it. Instead, the locket consists of 2 pieces on a bale. One fits on top of the other. To open it one simply pries the top and bottom apart. To close it, the sides are pressed together.
This unique form locket hangs from a vintage gold lined chain that is 17” in length. The spring ring closure on the chain opens and closes securely. The bale at the top of this locket is a plain round loop.

Condition:
In nice vintage condition with wear as would be expected an item that is early to mid 1900s in age. The interior wells have darkened over time. See photos for detail.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
