Lovely smaller sized round shaped gold filled photo locket that is circa the early to mid 1900s in age made by the Bliss Brothers Jewelry Company - see NOTE below about this company.
The front of this vintage locket features an ornate etched design of curly leafy shapes and swirls that fill up the complete locket front. There are some tiny parts of flower petals peeping out from behind the curls on the front as well. The background to this ornate design is a series of etched horizontal lines. The back is plain with no design and has a shiny finish.
NOTE: Bliss Brothers Company was founded by Charles Edwin Bliss, Everett Bradford Bliss, and R.L.F. Everett. According to an 1883 history of the county, Bliss Brothers & Everett “made a general variety of ladies’ and gents’ gold-plated goods.” The company became Bliss Brothers Co. sometime after 1887. Compacts, pill boxes, and other small items, including gold-filled and sterling jewelry, were made.
Inside the locket are two small round compartments for photos. One well has the frame and plastic cover intact and the other is empty. The locket closes securely. The hinge is on the bottom and the locket opens at the top. The bale is a plain round loop.
The vintage photo locket hangs from a new gold filled chain that is 18” in length. The chain has a spring ring clasp that closes securely.

Condition:
In fair to nice antique condition with wear commensurate with an antique item that is circa 1910 to 1920s. More scratching on the back as it is plain with no design - see photos for detail.
Markings:
The locket is marked inside one well with a the stamp: the Bliss Brothers hallmark of a capital B with a small B inside the top and CO inside the bottom of the B.
The 18” long gold filled chain is stamped 1/20 14K GF on the clasp.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
