Description:
Lovely antique Art Nouveau gold filled round photo locket on a 14K gold filled chain and a beautiful star shaped design on the front accented with "paste" gems. The front features a central etched starburst set with a clear paste gem in the very center with 8 ray shapes coming from that center. There are 4 faceted red and 4 blue paste stones set inside these etched rays coming from the star shape. The locket front has a total of 9 paste stones: 1 clear, 4 red, and 4 blue.
The back has a monogram with the initials GEW in an old cursive font. The background on the back with the monogrammed initials has a satin finish.
NITE: "Paste" stones are a type of cut glass. Paste stones were mainly produced to imitate the look of diamonds. The most commonly used material for paste was lead glass.
NOTE: The locket is marked J. G. F. CO. in one well frame which is the hallmark for J. G. Fuller Company of Providence, Rhode Island who operated from about 1896 to 1915.
Inside the locket, one of the frames has the frame and the clear celluloid cover still intact. This side has an old sepia tone photo of a young man as well. The other side is empty and shows the hallmark.
This vintage round locket hangs from a new 14K gold filled oval link chain with a spring ring clasp.
The locket, that has its hinge on the bottom, opens from the top, and closes securely. The spring ring clasp on the new 18” long gold filled oval link chain also closes securely.

Condition:
In nice antique condition with light wear on both sides as would be expected an antique item that is circa early 1900s. On the locket front, at the bottom left is a small impression - see photo closeups for detail.

Locket is marked on one inner frame with J.G.F. CO. inside a rounded rectangle in one well
The gold filled chain is stamped 1/20 14K GF near the spring ring clasp.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
