Description:
A classic vintage gold filled heart shaped locket necklace with a mother of pearl background that features a raised central flower that has black and white enamel petals and a clear paste gem center. The flower's center has a white gold colored prong setting in which is set a round faceted paste (glass) gem surrounded by the black and white enamel flower petals of what looks like a petunia flower. Below the flower are two leaves that are white gold in color. The longer leaf has 3 small clear paste stones in it and the shorter leaf has 2 small paste stones in it. The clear paste gem in the flower’s center is prong set. The smaller round stones are set inside the white gold colored leaves below the flower. The smaller stones in the leaves are in graduating sizes with the largest at the bottom of each leaf.
The back of this locket pendant has a fine vertical pinstriping on it. The fanned bale has some vertical lines on it. This wonderful locket is circa mid century. It opens and closes securely.
NOTE:
What is paste? Paste means stones made of various kinds of cut glass. Lead glass was most commonly used in the past to imitate diamonds in the 18th and 19th centuries, but paste stones were later colored by adding various metallic oxides. In more recent times, the makers of paste stones can imitate the color of almost any precious gemstone.
The interior of the locket is empty on one side and on the other is has an old black and white photo (circa 1940) with the frame and the plastic cover. This locket can hold two heart shaped photos (one on each side).
The locket hangs on a 14K gold filled oval link chain which secures with a spring clasp. Beautiful piece of romantic photograph jewelry.

Care instructions
While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.

We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
Do you accept returns on items that have been altered?
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
What is your policy for multiple returns in a short period of time?
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
