Description:
A unique antique triple photo holder slide locket / pendant that hangs from a Sterling Silver cable chain. This locket is unique in that it could hold 3 photos as the back window could hold a photo on each side. The top half of the locket holds one photo. The hallmark inside the locket is an S&F inside an axed fleur de lis shape. This hallmark stands for the Spier & Forsheim Jewelry Company of New York, New York. the company began in 1896 and ran until approximately 1909.
This antique pendant features a monogram of the initials MDC engraved on the front in an old cursive font. The most distinctive thing about this slide locket pendant is that has a see through window in the back and holds three photos: 1 behind the monogrammed front piece and 2 in the back piece. These two photos are set inside a round inset piece that holds a photo on the front (seen when it is open) and 1 that shows through the back window on the locket back. The inner side of this photo disk has a silver edge around it. The side that shows in the back “window” has no frame and no cover as the back window has a plastic over it already. (If one were to change out the photos, I would advise it be done by a jeweler.)
There are 2 small rounds on the bottom of this heart shaped slide locket that are gently pushed so the two pieces slide open to reveal the inner photo wells. The bale is a plain round loop. It is a larger size than most but has to be so in order for the 2 sides of the locket to slide open. Currently there is are 3 old black and white photos inside that are from the early 1900s. In the front panel is a gentleman, on the inside window is a woman with a baby and on the back is a young boy in a dark suitcoat.
Inside, on both the locket front and back sides, is marked STERLING and there is a S&F Trade Mark hallmark as well.
The pendant hangs from a marked 925 Sterling Silver Rolo link chain. The spring ring clasp on the chain opens and closes securely.

Condition:
Good condition with light surface wear commensurate with antique or vintage age, circa 1900. Some patina as would be expected an item that is antique/vintage.

Chain is marked 925 on a tag near the clasp

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
