Description:
A large and lovely antique round Art Nouveau gold filled photo locket on a 24" long 12K gold filled twisted link chain that is engraved with a woman's name on the back - Inez.
The front of this locket features a central raised light brown faceted glass simulated gemstone in an elongated six-sided shape surrounded by a total of 19 clear round faceted “paste” stones. The clear glass gems are on the top, sides, and at the bottom of the locket front. There is open mesh work all around the large light brown paste stone - the mesh is in a shield shape. There are graceful raised flowers (lilies) and swirls that flow all around the outer edge of the locket and nicely frame the ornate front.
The back of this large round locket has the name “Inez” engraved in an old cursive font. There are some etched curly accent lines on the top and bottom of the engraved name adding to the lovely look of this Art Nouveau Era locket.
NOTE: "Paste" stones are a type of cut glass. Paste stones were mainly produced to imitate the look of diamonds. The most commonly used material for paste was lead glass.
Inside this antique locket are two large round photo wells. Currently there is one old black and white photo of a dark haired lady in a wide brimmed hat that is circa early 1920s. Both wells have plastic covers in place.
This antique round and large sized locket hangs from a vintage 24” long 12K gold filled twisted link (rope) chain. The Matinee length chain is hallmarked at the clasp. The bale on the pendant is in a type of fleur de lis shape and has seven raised rounds on it - five are vertical down the center of the bale in graduating sizes, and there is also one on each side of this ornate bale.
The locket that has its hinge on the bottom, opens from the top. The filigree fold over clasp, an older style of chain clasp, opens and closes as intended.

Condition:
The locket is in nice antique condition with wear as would be expected a vintage item that is circa early 1900s. There is patina in the mesh work that is around the large central light brown paste gem. The gold filled twisted link chain is in nice vintage/antique condition.
Markings:
The gold filled chain is stamped 1/20 12K GF and XL on the filigree fold over clasp.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
