Description:
Lovely round vintage gold filled locket on a the new 14K gold filled chain. This locket has a unique floral and a shield design on the front with some Niello accenting the flower and shield shape. All around the design elements on the locket front is a textured finish. There is an etched edge around the locket front as well. The back of this vintage locket has subtle etched vertical pinstripes on it.
This Retro Era (circa mid century or earlier) locket front features a central etched shield shape on the right. On the left side of this shield shape are 2 flowing etched flower and leaf designs. The flower petals and the outline of the shield shape have some niello (dark fill) that fills in some of the tiny spaces to provide contrast and to make the etched designs stand out.
There are 2 round compartments for photos inside this locket. These compartments show lots of wear and some discoloration.
The hinge for this locket is on the bottom and it opens from the top. The locket closes securely. The bale is a plain oval loop.
The locket hangs on a new 14K gold filled twisted link chain that has a spring ring clasp. The chain’s spring ring clasp opens and closes securely.

Condition:
This locket necklace is in fair to nice vintage condition. The back has a vertical scratch on the left side that is quite prominent. The front shows wear and scratching commensurate with age - circa early to mid 1900s. See photos for detail. Price reflects these conditions.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
