A large and lovely antique round Art Deco era monogrammed gold filled photo locket on a new 14K gold filled zRolo chain.
The front of this locket made by the SB Company, features a central raised oval shape surrounded by a total of 14 “paste” stones. The stones that were probably once clear have darkened with age. There are 7 in paste gems on each side of the central oval. At the top and at the bottom of this oval shape is a raised fleur de lis. There are a total of 6 raised vertical lines - 3 on each side of this oval. At the bottom front, there is an ornate raised and wide V shaped piece decorated with tiny raised flowers. A raised frame that begins where these tiny flowers are located continues upward and is all around the majority of the front of this antique Art Deco Era locket. There are also small round embossed embellishments to the top left and right sides of the vertical lines and these small rounds add accent at several other places on the locket front.
The back is of this circa 1920s locket has a monogram with 2 initials in an old cursive and very ornate curly font. The letters are so decorative they are hard to discern. Best guess are the initials of AL.
NOTE: "Paste" stones are a type of cut glass. Paste stones were mainly produced to imitate the look of diamonds. The most commonly used material for paste was lead glass.
Inside this antique locket are two large round photo wells that are currently empty - no frames or plastics are intact. One photo well is hallmarked for the SB Company.
This antique round and larger sized locket hangs from a new 22” long 14K gold filled Rolo link chain. The chain is hallmarked at the clasp.
The locket, that has its hinge on the bottom, opens from the top. The spring ring clasp on the gold filled chain opens as intended and closes securely.

Condition:
The locket is in nice antique condition with wear as would be expected a vintage item that is circa early 1900s. Paste stones have darkened with age. The new gold filled chain is in very good condition.

The gold filled chain is stamped 1/20 14K GF on the spring ring clasp

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
