An antique Victorian photo locket on a 14K gold filled chain. The front of this mixed metal locket features a robin’s egg blue enamel oval with a tiny scalloped frame all around it. At one time, these little scalloped designs around the oval were filled with blue enamel but most of it has worn over time - it is seen upon close inspection. The front frame and the back panel of this mixed metal locket are gold filled while the sides are brass.
The back of this circa late 1800s locket has an ornate raised pattern with a four-petaled flower in the center and distinctive accent shapes going outward from them that are punctuated by tiny dots all around it.
The outer edges of this oval locket have a tiny raised design all around both the front and the back sides. This antique locket is thicker than most, and is about 1/4" deep.
When you open us this locket is when you get a feel for how old this antique mourning style pendant locket really is! Inside this antique locket are two oval photo wells. One side has an old worn and torn daguerreotype photo of a woman and on the other side is a very faded, very torn and very worn daguerreotype photo of a gentleman. Both wells have their frames still intact.
This antique oval locket hangs from a new 18” long 14K gold filled oval link chain - perfect for this mourning style locket from the Victorian Era.
The locket, that has its hinge on the side, opens easily and closes as intended using the two small raised rounds at the side edge that are pressed in opposite directions to open - one up and one down. The spring ring clasp on the new 14K gold filled oval link chain also closes securely.

Condition:
In nice antique condition with wear as would be expected an antique item that is circa late 1800s to early 1900s. There is some scratching on the enamel oval and some significant wear on the tiny scalloped enameling that was inside the design all around the larger enamel oval in the center - see photo closeup for detail. The 2 photos inside are very old, torn, dark, and very worn.

The gold filled chain is stamped 1/20 14K GF near the spring ring clasp.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
