Description:
Lovely antique round gold filled photo locket on an 18" gold filled chain made in the early 1900s by the Carter, Qvarnstrom & Remington Company. The locket front and back are plain with no design and feature a matte finish on both sides. This type of locket was often engraved with someone’s initials on one side, but this one has no markings or engraving on either side.
This locket, which is circa early 1900s, is hallmarked for the CQ&R Company on one of the inner frames of this locket pendant. (Under the photo.) There are two frames, two plastic covers, and two photos inside this locket.
NOTE: The locket is marked C & QR in one well frame which is the hallmark for Carter, Qvarnstrom & Remington, a jewelry company in business in Attleboro, Massachusetts from 1899-1930. At that time, Attleboro was referred to as "The Jewelry Capital of the World".
The locket can fit two round photos inside, one on each side. There are currently two old black and white photos inside. One photo is of a younger girl with short dark hair and the other is of a man wearing what seems to be a Naval cap and uniform. Both appear to be circa 1920s. The frames and the plastic covers over the photos are intact as well. The bale is a plain round loop.
This antique round locket hangs from a new 18” long 14K gold filled fine twisted link chain. The locket, that has its hinge on the bottom opens from the top. The spring ring clasp on the fine rope chain closes securely.

Condition:
The locket is in nice antique condition with wear on both sides as would be expected an antique item that is circa 1920s - see photos for detail.
Markings:
The locket is hallmarked CQ&R CO 1/4 GOLD and GOLD JOINT with a triangle shape on the well (under the girl's photo).
The chain is marked 1/20 14K GF on the spring ring clasp.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
