Description:
Lovely antique Art Nouveau gold filled round photo locket on a 14K gold filled chain. The front features a central faceted glass stone and a decorative outer edge. The center glass gem is prong set. Around the outer edges of this round locket is a frame of tiny round dots giving the 1920s era locket more texture around the edges. (See NOTE below about paste stones). The back has a satin finish with no design - it is plain.
This locket, which is hallmarked on the well with the paper backing, plastic cover and frame, has a mark that is barely legible.
NOTE: "Paste" stones are a type of cut glass. Paste stones were mainly produced to imitate the look of diamonds. The most commonly used material for paste was lead glass.
One of the frames, paper backing and plastic covers is still intact. This vintage round and larger sized locket hangs from a 16" long fine gold filled S link serpentine chain - a very feminine chain for a very feminine locket pendant.
The locket, that has its hinge on the bottom, opens and closes securely. The spring ring clasp on the chain also closes securely.

Condition:
In nice antique condition with light wear and on both sides and on the paste stone and some patina on the front - wear is as would be expected an antique item that is circa early 1900s. See photos for detail.
Markings:
The locket is marked with a very faint hallmarked that contains some illegible letters and the letters DS CO
The gold filled chain is stamped 1/20 14K GF FFD on the spring ring clasp

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
