Description:
A unique late 1800s Etruscan Revival gold tone locket with two photo compartments inside. This antique oval pendant has beautiful Etruscan style raised designs that include what looks like a butterfly and below it a bird shape. There are mixed metal decorations in the center of the oval locket front that are a silver, bronze, and golden color. This locket has some wonderful depth due to the raised pieces, applied rounds, and framed elements.
The back center of this antique estate jewelry piece is plain with no design and has a matte finish.
The outer edges in the front and the back of this antique locket feature a fine etched design that has diamond and three-leafed shapes with small round shapes on the outer edge in the ornate pattern that compliments the front design.
The inside of the antique locket contains two wells - one on each side. The Victorian piece hangs on a new 14K gold filled oval link chain. A beautiful and intricate Victorian locket that is from the late 1800s when an *Estruscan Revival was in full swing.
*NOTE: This locket’s style is Etruscan, as noted by the applied beading, granulation of the surface, and the rope motif used. Etruscan revival jewelry was inspired by archeological digs in Italy in the second half of the 19th century. This type of jewelry was especially popular in the 1860s‑1870s.
Inside this antique locket are two photo wells. They are deeper than most lockets and would hold a small memento if so desired.
The locket, that has its hinge on the side, opens easily and closes securely by pressing the two rounds on the side in opposite directions. The spring ring clasp on the long gold filled oval link chain also closes securely.

Locket - 1 3/4” in length ( including the bale) and 1 1/8" wide. This locket is wider or thicker than most having an approximate depth of 1/4".

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
